Renowned Astrologers are famous for their predictions. However there is an air of mystery behind many predictions. Events such as Rise of Hitler, World War or major sporting events became part of legends of History. But allegedly, some of these events were predicted, even before they occured.

It is fascinating to know what will happen in future. These predictions are based on current information, trends or data. Predictions are common in meteorology, economics, technology and more. But there have been many predictions about events, long before they actually occured, that shooked the world. What formed the basis behind these predictions in unexplained and hence said as mysterious.

World War II – Baba Vanga
Blind since her early childhood, Vangeliya Pandeva Gushterova, commonly known as Baba Vanga, was a Bulgarian attributed mystic and healer who claimed to have foreseen the future. Baba Vanga, the famed mystic known as the ‘Nostradamus of the Balkans,’ has predicted that the world’s end will begin with a devastating conflict in Europe in 2025.

Soccer World Cup – Paul, the Octopus
Paul, the octopus, became a global sensation with his accurate match predictions during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Paul made eight predictions and all were accurate. The octopus chose Spain as the winner in the semifinal against Germany and La Furia Roja won the game 1-0. For the final, Paul chose the box marked with the Spain flag, and the team beat Netherlands 1-0.

Bombings of Hiroshima – Nostradamus
Nostradamus, a 16th-century French astrologer and physician, is famous for his book “Les Prophéties,” a collection of 942 poetic quatrains that supposedly predict future events. Nostradamus’s supporters have retrospectively claimed that he predicted major world events, including the Great Fire of London, the French Revolution, the rises of Napoleon Bonaparte and Adolf Hitler, the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and September 11 attacks.

Great fire of London – Mother Shipton
Ursula Southeil, popularly known as Mother Shipton, was an English soothsayer and prophetess according to English folklore. She has sometimes been described as a witch and is associated with folklore involving the origin of the Rollright Stones of Oxfordshire. She foretold the fates of several rulers within and just after her lifetime, as well as the invention of iron ships and the Great Fire of London in 1666

Mark Twain – His own Death
Samuel Langhorne Clemens, known by the pen name Mark Twain, was an American writer, humorist, and essayist. Twain predicted the exact date of his own death. According to the book “Mark Twain: A Biography,” in 1909 he was quoted as saying: “I came in with Halley’s Comet in 1835. It is coming again next year, and I expect to go out with it.

By continuing to baffle and incite discussions over people’s ability to predict the future, these secretive divinations arouse interest in how some individuals or communities may have foreseen what was coming.
